P90X Equipment Needed - What to Buy and How to Save Money on P90X Workout Equipment

!±8± P90X Equipment Needed - What to Buy and How to Save Money on P90X Workout Equipment

What is the P90X equipment needed?

Recently a good friend of mine purchased the P90X workout program. After spending approximately 0, he realized that he did not have all the equipment that was required to complete the program.

So he asked me to write this article and break down exactly what are the best choices for equipment and not have to spend a great deal of money.

Here's a List of the P90X Equipment Needed:

1. Adjustable dumbbells, dumbbells or resistance bands

2. A pull up bar (however if you decide to purchase resistance bands you can forgo the pull up bar.)

3. A yoga mat or exercise mat (optional)

4. Push-up stands (optional, but it will help you avoid wrist strain)

5. Yoga blocks (optional)

6. A sturdy chair

There has been some debate online regarding the resistance bands vs. dumbbells for the P90X DVD exercise program. So let me give you a few pointers that'll help you in making that decision as well.

First, you have to determine how much room you can set aside for the dumbbells. In the beginning, you may only need two or three sets of dumbbells at different weight levels. For example, when doing the "heavy pants" exercise for your back; you will be able to use more weight than when you're performing a bicep curl.

One solution for this would be to purchase an adjustable dumbbell set. Unfortunately, they are a little on the expensive side. Fixed weight dumbbells cost an average of one dollar per pound. Consequently, if you purchase two 50 pound dumbbells it should cost you around 0. Sometimes, you can purchase a used set on eBay or craigslist. However, you should not pay more than $.50 per pound.

Getting back to adjustable dumbbells, they do fluctuate in price, but typically you will pay somewhere between - per pound. As you can see, they are more expensive however, having a set of adjustable dumbbells like the Bowflex SelectTech will save you some space.

If you don't have a great deal of room to work out in and don't have a couple hundred bucks to blow, then you may want to consider purchasing a quality set of resistance bands. One of the advantages of resistance bands is when it comes to doing the pull down or pull up exercise. In the beginning, very few individuals can perform more than one or two pull-ups. If that's the case, you can do pull downs with resistance bands. This will build up your strength and develop your back muscles the same way as chin-ups or pull-ups do. That will save you approximately 50 bucks because you will not need a pull up bar right away.

Typically, a good quality set of resistance bands will run you anywhere from to 0. So, they are much less expensive than fixed weight dumbbells or even adjustable dumbbells.

Hopefully this article will help you when you decide to purchase the P90X equipment needed to perform your first cycle.

Fun Trampoline Games

!±8± Fun Trampoline Games

It is undeniably fun to own a trampoline. Not only does it present health benefits for users because of the exercises it provides, it also provides a special opportunity to have lots of fun. Unfortunately, most trampoline owners are simply content with jumping up and down on the trampoline. This may get boring after a while, especially for kids who have low attention spans. What you would need to do is to play some trampoline games!

Before that, please keep in mind some important safety reminders. First, make sure that the trampoline is at least 10 feet in diameter (if circular) or 9x9 (if square). It is important because you would need as much space as possible to ensure that there will be no mid-air collisions. Furthermore, invest in a trampoline enclosure but if you can't for the moment, try to get unused bed foam and scatter it around (on the ground) the trampoline. For kids, wearing helmets and pads will also be better.

Now for the fun part! Here are the best trampoline games:

Crack the Egg - the child who is the "egg" sits in the middle of the trampoline and holds their knees close to their chest with both arms. The other children (max of 2-3) jump and try to make the "egg" let go of their legs. Sprinkler Fun - put a sprinkler under the center of the trampoline (make sure that the mat is weatherproof!) then turn It up so the water just touches the surface of the trampoline. Have the kids put on their bathing suits and sunscreen and enjoy getting wet! Crossfire - This is a fun modification of dodge ball. Two people are up on the trampoline while the rest of the team is on the ground around the trampoline. A soft ball is thrown at the 2 people on the trampoline from the people on the ground. If they hit that person with the ball, they switch positions and the person they hit then goes to the ground. (Play with a maximum of 2 people on the trampoline only and be extra careful because you would have to take down the enclosure because of this.) Old School Basketball - Set up a basketball ring beside the trampoline and try to score as many points possible against your opponent. Make sure that the ring is only a little bit higher than the enclosure. Also, assign a spotter to get the ball when it goes outside of the enclosure. Again, max of 2 jumpers only to ensure safety.
